Application Criteria

We are passionate about having a positive impact on our local community. We do so by investing 10% of our profits each year into the local area through our Community Support team, who work with key figures and groups to fund projects that benefit the people of Lanark or the town of Lanark as a whole.

Who do we support?

Border Community Support funding is available to projects located within Lanark and the surrounding areas with an ML11 postcode. When we consider applications, we do so in relation to the community benefit we believe the project will offer. As a result, we only support projects that fit within the following categories:

  • Sports
  • Arts
  • Heritage
  • Learning
  • Events
  • Leisure/Recreation
  • Digital

The following list sets out the types of groups and activities not supported by Border Community Support:

  • National charities outwith Lanark.
  • Non community projects (a group does not have to be a registered charity to apply, however, the project must benefit the local community within the set boundaries.)
  • National or overseas projects.
  • Core statutory services.
  • Individuals
  • Political/Religious groups
  • Health
  • Social Welfare

How to apply

If you think your project meets the above criteria, please follow the link to our application form.

All applications are considered at the monthly Community Support meeting. We will be in touch to let you know the outcome of your application or we may require more detail around your submission to allow us to make a fully informed decision.
